Resolve problems copying large files
Many people running Windows Vista are having issues copying large files over the netowrk or over mapped network drive. I had my own problem till I cam across this great fix. If you have had the large copying problem or have been having to reboot your computer or router after copying over large files then this guide should help you out.
From all the reaserch I have done it lokos like this is from the auto tuning network function that comes with Windows Vista. The good news is you can just shut it off. I am hearing that Vista SP1 resolves this issue but who knows. It's not offically released yet so what do we care. This guide show you how to simply shut the auto-tunig function off and back on if you ever want to.
Open Administrative Mode Command Prompt
Either type cmd into the start menu and use Ctrl+Shift+Enter or right-click the Command Prompt shortcut and choose Run as Administrator.
Turn Off Auto-Tuning
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
You'll have to reboot your system, but once you do, the problems should be resolved. If they are not you can always turn auto-tuning back on.
Turn On Auto-Tuning
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
That's it. It solved my issue so hopefully it resolves your own.
