Did you know that the majority of all software issues related to Windows Vista can be resolved by just doing a system restore? I’m not talking about reloading your Windows Vista operating system or even using the Windows Vista Restore disk.

Think of the Windows Vista Restore as a way to send your computer back in time to when it was functioning. The restore will remove any trouble software that was installed after that restore point and you will not loose any of your recent documents like word, excel or pictures.

To repair windows Vista the easy way simply hit the windows start button on the bottom left and in the search box type RESTORE and you’ll immediately see System Restore at the top of the start menu. Now just select system restore and then the date you would like to restore your computer back to. Go back to a date when your computer was functioning just fine. If the issue has just started I recommend going back at least 2 weeks. The dates you can revert back to will be in bold. Just select the date and hit next. Follow the simple on screen prompts and you will be good to go. If for some reason the system restore fails follow the below.

Every once in a while your system will not be able to restore the computer. When this happens shut your computer down and start pressing the F8 key to boot into safe mode. Select the safe mode option and once you log into the Windows Vista OS follow the above to do the system restore again. Pick a different date and you should be good to go.

If you can’t even get into windows, you can boot off the installation dvd, and choose the “Repair your computer” option on the lower left hand side. Click next on the next screen.

Now choose System Restore from the System Recovery dialog. It will take a few seconds to come up, and you will see the same screen that you would see in Windows. I hope this info has helped. Please reply and post your thoughts and give us some feedback on this article. It will help others to know how this is working.

Some times this will not work. When that happens you can still be up and going quickly by using www.onlinecomputerrepair.org . These guys are great and can fix just about anything. Best part is if they can’t fix it then you do not have to pay anything. Give them a call or visit them today if you are still having issues.

The Purpose of this article is to help guide you in repairing your IE7 (internet explorer 7 repair). Feel free and post comments and solutions of your own.

When you try to open Internet Explorer, you may receive a “Webpage cannot be displayed” error message. Additionally, Internet Explorer may stop responding when you open it or when you use it. This may be caused by one of the following:

•

Issues or conflicts with other software that is installed.

•

The user account is corrupted.

•

The computer is infected by malicious third-party software or by viruses.

•

Configuration settings issues and compatibility issues within Internet Explorer.

Note These issues may occur because Internet Explorer maintenance has to be performed, Internet Explorer has conflicting or incorrect settings, or one of the Internet Explorer .dll files is missing or is corrupted.

If you experience unexpected behavior in IE7 then try restoring all the default settings. Often times this will solve your issue.
A few other simple tricks you can do to help solve any issue in Vista including IE7

Use The System File Checker tool:

1.

Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

2.

Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue

3.

At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

When the scan is complete, test to see whether the issue that you are experiencing is resolved. If the issue that you are experiencing is not resolved, use the procedure that is described in the “The System Restore tool” section.

The System Restore tool

Other troubleshooting methods, such as using the System File Checker tool, may not resolve the issue. If they do not resolve the issue, and the issue that you are experiencing started occurring recently, you can use the System Restore tool. By using this tool, you can restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Using the System Restore tool may not necessarily help you determine the issue. The System Restore tool uses restore points to return system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time in which you did not experience the issue. When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

1.

Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

2.

In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

3.

In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.

4.

Click Finish.

The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created.

I hope this has helped you resolve your issue. If not add a comment and someone may respond to help you out

Uninstalling Vista Boot loader is not a hard thing to do. You have two simple options.

Normally when you need to uninstall the vista boot loader you have installed Microsoft Windows Vista Beta\RC1 on your existing Windows system in dual-boot mode, while installing windows vista overwrites the system MBR (Master Boot Record) to let you make choice between Windows Vista and Windows XP Or any other operating system. But when you uninstall windows vista the vista boot loader just remains as it is and hence the dual-boot menu is visible even after uninstallation of windows vista. There could be three possible solutions for this particular problem as discussed below in detail below.

Vista boot loader solution 1

The Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store contains boot configuration parameters and controls how the operating system is started in Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server Code Name “Longhorn” operating systems. These parameters were previously in the Boot.ini file (in BIOS-based operating systems) or in the nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM) entries (in Extensible Firmware Interface–based operating systems).

You can use the Bcdedit.exe command-line tool to affect the Windows® code which runs in the pre-operating system environment by adding, deleting, editing, and appending entries in the BCD store. Bcdedit.exe is located in the WindowsSystem32 directory of the Windows Vista partition.

Why was there a change to BCD from Boot.ini?
BCD was created to provide an improved mechanism for describing boot configuration data. With the development of new firmware models (for example, the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI)), an extensible and interoperable interface was required to abstract the underlying firmware.

This new design provides the foundation for a variety of new features in Windows Vista (for example, the Startup Repair tool and Multi-User Install shortcuts).

VistaBootPRO is an application used to make changes to the Windows Vista Boot Configuration Data (BCD) registry quickly and easily, in a fraction of the time it takes to use the alternative, which is the command prompt based application bcdedit.exe, located in the Windowssystem32 folder of Windows Vista.

Designed for both beginners and advanced users, VistaBootPRO can be used to make “cosmetic” changes to the Windows Vista boot Menu such as changing the name of the Operating Systems shown in the boot menu and make advanced “functional” changes like adding an Operating System to the boot menu and repairing the Windows Vista boot configuration data.

Advanced settings include backing up and exporting your boot loader configuration and modifying various details for the entries.

For those who have used bcdedit.exe in the past, you will be impressed with the ease of use and functionality that VistaBootPRO provides.

Simply install this software on your Windows XP system and delete the Windows Vista entry. It is advisable to make a backup of existing boot config using VistaBoot Pro incase anything goes bad. Download

Second Solution

This solution is the second best option for the problem, for this You need a Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional CD.

Just change you BIOS settings to boot from CD\DVD-ROM drive and boot from your Windows XP CD. Now choose the “Recovery Console” option by presing ‘R’ key.

You should now be asked enter you Admin password: just hit enter if you do not have an admin password or enter the admin password now.

Now, type FIXMBR and press enter, press ‘Y’ to confirm.

Now, you need to type: FIXBOOT and press enter , press ‘Y’ to confirm

Now, remove the XP CD from drive and restart your computer, Your Vista Boot loader problem has now been fixed. Congradulations and post a comment if this helped you and share it with others.
