Autologon In Vista
There are two different ways to have an autologon in Vista. The first way we will cover is if you have two or more users. Click “Start” and then type “netplwiz” in the search box. A new window will pop-up. Uncheck “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” box. Then click apply. Another box will pop-up, now you need to type in the name of the account you want to autologon with. If you have a password then enter it. If you do not have a password then leave it blank. This is a simple way to create an autologon in Vista.
The second way works only if you have one account. You simply go into the windows Vista control panel and remove the password for the account. The next time windows boots it will auto login.
Please note that removing the password and even creating an autologon in vista is a security risk. It is not recommended that any business do this. The average user’s information will be at risk as well if your computer is stolen. You may want to think twice about doing this if you have a notebook.
