Malware Alarm removal Instructions
The good news is if you were infected recently we have a rather simple fix you can try. This does not always work but will remove the spyware program. The traces will still be there but read this full guide on how to remove the traces completely. Please keep in mind that you would not have been infected in the first place if you had an internet security suit, I know people rave about the free AVG and Avast but those are not good enough. You need REAL PAID SOFTWARE, if you are cheap and do not want to spend the money then just remember you get what you pay for. Spyware Doctor with antivirus is a product I recommend all the time for removal of Malware alarm. They have a free 30 day trial so you can at least test the software out and see if you like it.
Ok, now to why you came here in the first place. If you were just infected and you are running windows XP or Windows Vista then do the system restore. Let’s say you were infected 2 weeks ago. Click the windows start button on the bottom left and then go to “All Programs” > “Accessories” > “System Tools” > “System Restore”. Now choose a date that you were not infected. If you were infected 2 weeks ago go back 3 weeks. I would always go back at least a week just to make sure. It may take up to 20-30 minutes for the restore to complete. Windows will automatically reboot. During this time unplug your network cable. Once your computer has re-booted give it another 5 minutes to finish the restore process. During this time just leave the computer alone. You will see a message saying “Restore Complete” when it is done. Now reboot your computer and go into safe mode with networking.
To enter safe mode start pressing the F8 key as your computer boots up. You will need to press it every other second. You should see a dos like screen with several options. Choose “Safe Mode with Networking”. If your computer boots normal just re-boot and try the F8 thing again.
As you boot into safe mode with networking you will be asked if you would like to boot into safe mode or do a restore. Just select “yes” to boot into safe mode.
Now that your there be sure to plug your network cable back in so you have internet access. Open up internet explorer. Most likely your home page will still be high jacked. Not to worry. Go to tools > internet options. In the first box type the web address to your favorite site and then select apply. Now download the following programs and update them then run them. These programs are all free and are great for removing malware alarm completely.
Download and install the followingSpybot Search and destroy
Spyware Doctor With Antivirus
Go ahead install Spybot S&D first. When you are asked to backup the registry please do so. When asked to update go ahead. After this immunize your system but DO NOT run the scan.
Now install Spyware Doctor. When installing you will see that Spybot's Tea Timer will be going crazy. It will ask you if you want to allow this change and that change. I personally disable Tea timer during the Spyware Doctor install but you can just hit yes to it all if you want. Update Spyware Doctor. The scan likes to auto start. If that is the case just can cell the scan. Re-boot your computer into safe mode at this time.
To boot into safe mode just re-start your computer and start pressing the F8 key every other second. You will see a DOS like screen. Select "Safe Mode". Sometimes the F8 thing does not work the first time around. If you did not see the DOS like screen and then re-boot and try again. Now that windows is booting into safe mode you will see a box pop up. Just say yes to continue to boot into safe mode.
Now that you are in safe mode and Spybot is already updated run the program. The scan should take around 30-40 min tues. After the scan hit the remove button to remove any spyware found.
If you are told that spybot could not remove everything then you should allow the scan to run again on system restart.
Now run Spy Ware Doctor. Please note that the scan is free but removal is not. the only reason we have installed this program is to ensure all programs have been removed. Spyware Doctor in my opinion is the best product on the market and I use that to ensure that all Malware Alarm traces have been removed. If Spyware Doctor finds more Malware Alarm traces then you can either purchase the program or try running Spybot S&D again to see if it will remove any thing else. You should know ahead of time that Spyware Doctor may find cookies that are bad. You do not need to worry about cookies as they will do no harm to your computer. You should now be virus free. The total process takes about 2 hours for the average person. If you find your computer is still not working then consider calling a computer tech or having your computer repaired online. I know www.onlinecomputerrepair.org removes viruses and spyware for only $89 bucks. Most companies charge that much just to come out and take a look.
